THE BAND
A guitar heavy, well crafted rock trio that varies from hard rock to almost lyrical, with mood swings from angry to airy without hesitation.

The lyrics are almost spoken-word-like, mixing colourful pictures with urgent wake up calls.
The band hails from Gotland, a mystical island in the middle of the Baltic Sea.
The marks of living in a mythical place with millenials of history can perhaps be traced in the mood and stories told by the band but it’s the love for big rock anthems such as Queen, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Muse and Big Wreck that rubs off on the music the trio creates together.
One might ask if the world needs three more white guys playing rock music.
The answer is yes. When it’s this well performed, honest and sharp - it does.

URBAN JOHANSSON
Plays bass and sings backup vocals.
By daytime he’s a carpenter and by night he swaps his hammer for a more low end thumping 70s Gibson bass that is his pride and joy. He has played in several bands through the years, Stockholm based ”The Stuff” was his most recent project before joining Java Kickback. |
NICKA HELLENBERG
Drummer and time keeper of the three. By daytime he’s into photography, fishing, TV and copy writing but his love for music tends to invade all 24 hours of the day. He’s been drumming for all kinds of projects as a studio musician, in the symphonic rock band Jono, and on the 2011 album ”The Unforgiving” by Within Temptation.

STEFAN LEOSON
Writes the songs, sings and play guitars. By daytime he's a game music composer with a checkered past, ranging from diverse rock bands to musical stage and film music composition. In 2006 he released a solo album and in 2018 he connected with Ubba and Nicka to form Java Kickback.
